Position Purpose: The Desktop Support Technician sets up and maintains desktop computers and user accounts, provides technology training to new hires, and continuous training and support to all users company-wide.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide formal systems training to new employees and informal training to existing employees on a continuing basis.
· Set up new computers, user logins and email accounts for new employees, including installing addition software as needed.
· Troubleshoot and maintain the hardware and software of Mac OSX based desktop systems.
· Test, package, and deploy updated, upgrades, and new software.
· Troubleshoot and maintain other technology equipment, including printers, scanners, projectors, and network connections.
· Disable accounts, archive data, and re-image the computers of exiting employees
· Administer voice communications system, including voicemail and extension assignments.
· Implement, administer, and maintain FileMaker Pro databases.
· Create technical documentation of department policies and procedures, including end user guides.
· Maintain and update inventory of hardware and software assets as needed.
· Set up and document all company owned cell phones.
Required Experience and Education:
· 2 – 4 years of Macintosh desktop support experience or equivalent
· Some knowledge of UNIX helpful
· High School diploma
· Apple Certified Help Desk Specialist (ACHDS) certification or equivalent experience
Required Skills:
· Experience with troubleshooting, maintaining and deploying Mac OSX desktop systems.
· Proven knowledge of various software applications, including MS Office for Macintosh, FileMaker Pro, etc.
· A working knowledge of OSX Server based systems, including user and file management.
· Some familiarity with voice communication systems and access control systems.
· Proven abilities in oral and written communication, self-motivation, organizational skills and time management skills.
· Demonstrated problem solving skills.
· Some international travel may be required.
